Meeting with ECOJER Representatives

A working meeting was held between the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, A. S. Kuantyrov, and representatives of the Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives “ECOJER”.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues related to climate policy, the development of the carbon market, as well as attracting investment in projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing greenhouse gas removals.

Particular attention was paid to the development of regional platforms for implementing carbon projects in the agricultural sector and to the establishment of an effective monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) infrastructure.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint efforts to create favorable conditions for the implementation of high-quality climate projects and to attract investment in low-carbon development.
