Since the launch of the EcoQolday system, total payments to its participants have exceeded KZT 5.9 billion. During this period, 180,500 tonnes of waste have been sent for recycling through the system, while the number of concluded agreements has reached 113.
EcoQolday is a digital platform designed to support businesses engaged in waste collection and recycling. To date, 113 agreements have been concluded under the system, including 78 with waste collectors, 21 with recycling companies, and 14 with full-cycle waste management enterprises.
Total payments to participants have amounted to KZT 5.943 billion. In 2024, KZT 4.6 million was disbursed, followed by KZT 884.4 million in 2025. From January to September 2026, payments reached KZT 5.054 billion.
At the same time, the volume of waste sent for recycling through EcoQolday continues to grow. In 2024, this figure stood at 11,070 tonnes, increasing to 49,340 tonnes in 2025. During the first nine months of 2026, the volume reached 120,140 tonnes. Since the system's launch, a total of 180,500 tonnes of waste have been directed for recycling.
EcoQolday is accessible not only to businesses operating in the waste management sector. Individuals and legal entities can use the mobile application to submit requests for the sale of glass containers, paper, cardboard, plastic packaging, and plastic film. Users can then select a waste collector and hand over their collected recyclable materials.
A separate area of focus is the involvement of associations of property owners (OSIs) and housing cooperatives (KSKs) in separate waste collection. The system provides two participation mechanisms.
Under the first mechanism, an OSI or KSK registers as a waste generator. An eco-box can then be installed within the residential complex, and the collected recyclable materials are purchased by a waste collector.
The second mechanism allows an OSI or KSK to register as a waste collector, enabling it to sell recyclable materials directly to recycling enterprises and receive payments from JSC Zhasyl Damu.
This approach is already being implemented in Astana. Since January 2026, eco-boxes for the separate collection of paper and plastic have been installed in residential complexes across the capital. To date, 53 eco-boxes have been installed, covering more than 130 apartment buildings. An additional 100 eco-boxes and reverse vending machines for recyclable materials are planned to be installed by the end of 2026.
The continued development of EcoQolday helps expand the participation of businesses and the public in separate waste collection and recycling, while also encouraging the reintegration of recyclable materials into the economy.
