With the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhasyl Damu JSC continues to finance projects aimed at developing waste recycling and establishing modern infrastructure for the industry. A new paper and cardboard production plant is being constructed in Aktobe.
The project is being implemented by CAPITAL PLAST KZ LLP. Once the plant reaches its designed production capacity, it will be able to produce up to 18,000 tonnes of fluting paper and up to 24,000 tonnes of linerboard annually.
The total project cost is approximately KZT 10.3 billion. The project is being financed through recycling fees allocated by Zhasyl Damu JSC.
Construction is currently progressing according to schedule. Foundation works, warehouse construction and pile installation are underway at the site. A boiler house has already been completed. The plant is expected to be commissioned in 2027.
Once the plant reaches full production capacity, more than 300 jobs are expected to be created.
The implementation of this project will establish new production capacities for paper and cardboard made from recycled materials in Aktobe and increase the volume of waste paper processed for recycling.
As a reminder, Zhasyl Damu JSC has financed 30 projects totaling approximately KZT 116 billion using recycling fee revenues. These projects contribute to the development of modern waste management infrastructure, increased recycling volumes, reduced waste disposal in landfills, and the integration of secondary raw materials into the economy in accordance with the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
