Zhasyl Damu JSC and the Industrial Development Fund JSC have supported the construction of municipal solid waste recycling complexes in the Akmola region.

A financial leasing agreement has been concluded between the Industrial Development Fund JSC, Eco-Dump LLP, and Zhasyl Damu JSC for the construction of modern waste sorting and recycling complexes in the city of Kokshetau, as well as in the Zerenda and Burabay districts.

The project предусматривает acquisition of high-tech equipment that meets international standards under preferential financing terms of 3% per annum for a period of 12 years. The facilities will ensure comprehensive sorting and recycling of municipal solid waste, including paper, plastics, glass, rubber, metals, polymer products, packaging materials, and construction waste.

The total designed capacity of the three complexes will reach up to 150,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year. As a result, approximately 77,300 tons of secondary raw materials will be produced annually and reintegrated into industrial use, making the project a key element of the region’s environmental infrastructure.

The project is aimed at reducing environmental impact through the establishment of a full technological chain — from sorting and recycling to storage and sale of secondary materials. It is expected to significantly reduce landfill volumes, decrease the burden on existing waste disposal sites, and lower greenhouse gas emissions, including CO₂.

Additionally, the project will create 180 new jobs.

Zhasyl Damu JSC emphasizes that this initiative is being implemented within the framework of Kazakhstan’s transition to a green economy. Since 2024, together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Industrial Development Fund JSC, a program has been underway to support enterprises engaged in waste sorting, recycling, and utilization.

To date, 26 waste processing and recycling facilities across the country have been supported under this program, contributing to environmental sustainability and balanced regional development.
