Innovative Solutions for Safe Waste Recycling

Amid growing environmental and public health challenges, the implementation of modern technologies that ensure the safe management of waste and its reintegration into the circular economy has become increasingly important.

A prime example of this approach is Kazecotech LLP (Astana), a scientific and technological company that has been successfully integrating scientific research, innovative technologies, and industrial production in the field of environmental safety for more than 15 years.

Since 2011, the company has been implementing projects aimed at developing environmentally sound waste management systems and promoting the principles of the circular economy.

Today, the company provides:

  • recycling of hazardous waste, including mercury-containing waste;
  • processing of more than 2 million used energy-saving lamps and mercury thermometers;
  • environmentally safe thermal treatment of over 4,000 types of waste;
  • participation in the development of national standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of waste management and environmental protection.

The high level of the company's technological solutions is confirmed by the inclusion of its equipment in Kazakhstan’s National Register of Green Technologies, as well as its compliance with international standards for quality, environmental management, and industrial safety.

The experience of Kazecotech LLP demonstrates that modern environmental technologies not only ensure the safe treatment of hazardous waste but also significantly reduce its negative impact on the environment, contributing to the development of a circular economy and strengthening Kazakhstan’s environmental security.

The implementation of such projects has been made possible thanks to the support of Zhasyl Damu JSC, financed through funds accumulated under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mechanism. These initiatives contribute to the development of modern waste management infrastructure, the introduction of environmental innovations, and the achievement of Kazakhstan’s national sustainable development goals.
