JSC Zhasyl Damu Employee Named Best Participant of International Climate Programme in Seoul

Malika Nurmanova, an employee of Sectoral Competencies Department 2 at JSC Zhasyl Damu, was named the best participant of the 16th UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT International Programme on Greenhouse Gas Inventories. Upon completion of the programme, she was awarded a Certificate of Excellence and the title of Valedictorian 2026.

The programme was held from 31 August to 18 September 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and brought together 24 specialists from 23 countries. The training focused on the preparation of national greenhouse gas inventories, climate reporting, and ensuring transparency under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.

Representing Kazakhstan, Malika Nurmanova delivered a presentation on greenhouse gas inventory preparation in the Agriculture sector. She spoke about the methodological approaches applied, the specifics of data collection, and opportunities for further improvement of the national greenhouse gas inventory.

The participants also visited the headquarters of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), where they learned about international practices in climate governance and the mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The knowledge and practical skills gained during the programme will be applied in the work of JSC Zhasyl Damu to further improve Kazakhstan’s national greenhouse gas inventory and enhance the quality of the country’s climate reporting.
