Meeting of JSC “Zhasyl Damu” on the Involvement of Housing Cooperatives (KSK) and Homeowners’ Associations (OSI) in the EcoQolday Information System

At the premises of JSC “Zhasyl Damu”, a working meeting was held with representatives of the Kazakhstan Waste Management Association “KazWaste”, the Astana branch of the OSDP Party, the Expert Council on Housing and Utilities (HCS) and Homeowners’ Associations (OSI), as well as specialized enterprises engaged in the collection and recycling of secondary raw materials in Astana.

The meeting focused on the involvement of residents in the system of separate collection and sorting of recyclable waste (paper, glass, and plastic) through the EcoQolday Automated Information System (AIS).

The speaker of the event was Mr. Nurzhan Kabdoldanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Zhasyl Damu”.

The key topic of discussion was the participation of Housing Cooperatives (KSK) and Homeowners’ Associations (OSI) in Astana in the EcoQolday system. Through this digital platform, residents of apartment buildings can hand over sorted recyclables without leaving their homes and receive monetary rewards from specialized companies engaged in the collection of recyclable materials.

The participants also discussed the possibilities of launching pilot projects to implement the separate waste collection system in residential complexes across the city. The plans include the development of the necessary infrastructure: installation of specialized containers, integration of a loyalty system, and conducting information and awareness campaigns among residents.

JSC “Zhasyl Damu” continues to promote the culture of waste separation and to develop digital eco-services for the population. The involvement of apartment residents through KSK and OSI is an important step towards fostering responsible consumption and building a sustainable waste management model in the urban environment.

For reference:
The EcoQolday Automated Information System (AIS) is a digital platform designed to support the collection, sorting, and recycling of waste. Users can track their recyclable submissions, receive financial rewards, and participate in eco-programs and contests. The system aims to engage both individuals and businesses in the creation of a “green economy.”
