A project aimed at improving environmental literacy has been launched in the city of Konaev

In the city of Konaev, important activities focused on environmental education have been launched as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental campaign. The large-scale project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan and coordinated by JSC “Zhasyl Damu” and the public foundation “Kazakhstan Environmental Fund”.

As part of this initiative, a series of informative lectures has been introduced to improve environmental awareness among residents, especially students and young people. The program consists of five modules and is focused on developing proper household waste management practices. Additionally, it is planned to cover at least 10% of the city’s schools and train 10% of teachers, which will enable the systematic dissemination of environmental knowledge.

The first module explains in detail the importance of separating solid household waste into dry and wet fractions and provides clear examples of different types of waste and their impact on the environment.

The second module demonstrates methods for sorting waste such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal, and teaches effective recycling techniques. The third module addresses the environmental footprint of packaging and promotes conscious consumption. The fourth module thoroughly explains the 3R principle – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – and offers practical ways to apply it in everyday life. The fifth module focuses on the EcoQolday digital platform, where participants learn how to track, monitor waste disposal, and enhance environmental responsibility through the system.

The lectures are conducted by experienced specialists and qualified trainers. In particular, lecturers such as Aigul Kadesovna and Askhat Tezekbaevich are delivering sessions in Konaev, actively promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

Currently, the activities have already begun in Konaev. The meetings and lectures within the project not only provide theoretical knowledge but also help develop practical skills for environmentally responsible behavior in daily life.

The “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative is one of the important steps toward improving the country’s environmental situation. Such activities foster a caring attitude toward nature and lay the foundation for creating a clean and safe environment for future generations.
