Zhasyl Damu Discusses Improvements to Waste Management Legislation

A working meeting was held at Zhasyl Damu JSC to discuss improvements to legislation and regulatory mechanisms governing the management of various types of waste. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Management Board and Members of the Management Board Nurzhan Kabdoldanov and Daniyar Dossymbekov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and other stakeholders.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the existing approaches to regulating the management of municipal solid waste, bulky waste, construction waste, and medical waste, as well as legal and practical issues arising in this area.

Particular attention was paid to improving waste management regulatory mechanisms involving Zhasyl Damu JSC. In particular, the participants discussed the allocation of powers and responsibilities, the practical application of legislative provisions, and certain regulations requiring further legislative and regulatory elaboration.

Following the meeting, the parties identified key areas for further joint work. They agreed to continue addressing the issues raised and to develop specific proposals aimed at improving the regulatory and legal framework in the field of waste management.
