A meeting was held at Zhasyl Damu JSC focusing on issues related to engaging the population, as well as housing associations (KSKs and OSIs), in the system of separate waste collection, sorting, and recycling of secondary raw materials through the EcoQolday automated information system. The meeting was chaired by Nurzhan Kenesbayevich Kabdoldanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Zhasyl Damu JSC.
During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the pilot project “Taza Üy – Taza El” (“Clean Home – Clean Country”), which is being carried out within the framework of the national initiative “Taza Qazaqstan” (“Clean Kazakhstan”). Special attention was paid to the mechanisms for connecting housing cooperatives and associations of property owners to the EcoQolday AIS. The system enables citizens to hand over recyclable materials — plastic, paper, and glass — without leaving their homes, while receiving monetary compensation both from specialized enterprises and in the form of state support.
A presentation on the practical and legislative aspects of implementing these initiatives was delivered by Saken Shaimuratovich Shaimurat, Manager of the Department for Waste Management Organization at Zhasyl Damu JSC. He emphasized that the project aims to foster a sustainable culture of separate waste collection and to increase economic incentives for environmentally responsible behavior among the population.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Astana branch of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party, headed by Chairman Talgat Tybysbayevich Omarov; Chairman of the Astana Association of Property Owners’ Associations Erlan Karbaev; chairpersons of OSIs in Astana; as well as representatives of specialized enterprises engaged in the collection of recyclable materials in the capital.
The implementation of the “Taza Üy – Taza El” initiative will help reduce the burden on landfills, promote the development of the secondary raw materials recycling industry, and contribute to the formation of an environmentally responsible society.
