Zhasyl Damu JSC Discusses EcoQolday Development and Separate Waste Collection with Regions

On August 21, 2026, Zhasyl Damu JSC held an online meeting to discuss the development of the EcoQolday system and ways to engage the public in separate waste collection. The discussion was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, local executive bodies, waste collection companies, housing cooperatives (KSK), and associations of property owners (OSI) from across the country.

More than 60 representatives of the waste management and housing and utilities sectors took part in the meeting.

One of the key topics was the development of the “Taza Üi – Taza El” (Clean Home – Clean Country) project, which is being implemented in Astana and aims to engage residential complexes in the separate collection of recyclable materials. Participants discussed the project’s current results, opportunities for further expansion, and the possibility of introducing a similar mechanism in other regions of Kazakhstan.

Particular attention was paid to the volumes of recyclable materials collected and the payment mechanism for waste delivered for recycling, as well as cooperation between waste collection and recycling companies, housing cooperatives, associations of property owners, and management companies.

Representatives of Zhasyl Damu JSC explained the registration and operating procedures within the EcoQolday information system, the requirements for business entities, and the main stages of joining the platform.

The meeting also covered existing support measures for the waste management sector, mechanisms for involving housing cooperatives and associations of property owners in separate waste collection, as well as issues related to the development of the necessary infrastructure.

Such meetings will help strengthen direct cooperation between industry stakeholders and the regions and contribute to developing practical approaches to further expanding separate waste collection and increasing the volume of waste sent for recycling.
