Since 2024, Kazakhstan has been operating the EcoQolday digital platform and mobile application. The service connects residents and businesses with collectors and recyclers of secondary raw materials. Through the app, users can submit requests to recycle glass, paper, cardboard, plastic packaging, and other types of waste, receive offers from collection companies, hand over recyclable materials, and receive financial compensation.
According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as of July 10, 2026, 99 companies had signed agreements within the system. Of these, 66 companies are engaged in waste collection, 20 specialize in recycling, and 13 provide a full-cycle waste management service. In addition, the system has registered 631 applications from individuals and 456 from legal entities.

According to the Ministry, the highest numbers of registered participants and the largest volumes of recyclable waste collected are currently recorded in the southern regions of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Zhomart Aliyev noted that any citizen can register in the system.
“If a citizen collects plastic, waste paper, scrap metal, or other types of household waste, they can hand it over for recycling and receive financial support. JSC Zhasyl Damu provides support for the collection, sorting, and recycling system for municipal solid waste,” the Vice Minister said.
